Let it go

West Virginia just needs to come to a comprimise.
The last thing the state's flagship university needs is to be burdened with a $4 million lawsuit over their former coach Rich Rodriguez for his buyout after fled to Michigan.
All of WVU's efforts should be concentrated on hiring a new coach. After Central Michigan coach -- and former WVU assistant -- Butch Jones' second interview, the Mountaineers should know where they are headed.
But, WVU has dropped the ball in its coaching search. First, it was former assistant coach and player Doc Holliday. That plan eventually evaporated and he is still with Florida.
Next, it was Jimbo Fisher. However, WVU was trumped when news came out that Fisher will be Bobby Bowden's successor no later than 2010 at Florida State.
Keeping it in the family, there was also Terry Bowden, of Yahoo! Sports fame. The former Auburn coach has said that WVU would be a great place to coach, and it would even be a great story seeing as it was the spot where his daddy started.
WVU needs to take care of this problem. National signing day is Feb. 6 and the 6-foot-6, 227-pound Terrelle Pryor -- Pennsylvania's top-rated prep prospect -- has already taken his sights off WVU and has targeted Michigan.
The Mountaineers have won back-to-back bowl games, including a Sugar Bowl win in 2006 over Georgia. In the last five years, WVU has won outright or shared four Big East titles.
Their reputation speaks for itself.
It's time for the WVU administration to understand that and make a coaching decision, or else "Country Roads" will become a forgotten relic as WVU fans exit Mountaineer Field in deadening silence next year.
