Why conference title games?

With Missouri taking on Oklahoma in the Big XII championship game this weekend, the Tigers are at odds to win yet another game.
Even though they beat undefeated Kansas in the regular season finale at Arrowhead Stadium, Mizzu still has to prove its worth.
Why?
Because there is still a conference championship game that could end the Tigers' dream season and send Ohio State -- who has been dormant for two weeks since beating Michigan -- to the national title game.
This must be fixed. I am a fan of the Big Ten and I don't it's fair that teams can help themselves without playing when teams are forced into another game because conferences seek the almighty dollar.
The major conferences -- Big Ten, Big XII, Pac 10, ACC, SEC and Big East -- should be forced to either play a league title game or get rid of it altogether. I know everyone would enjoy another game in the Big Ten, Pac 10 and Big East conferences and it would also help that conference if a team is on the bubble of advancing to a high-revenue bowl.

Bud Light: Real Men of Genius - Hopeless Notre Dame Fan
It's only going to get worse for the Domers. If Charlie Weis can only win with Ty Willingham's players, how the hell is he supposed to win without them?
Losing to Navy and breaking a 43-year winning streak is by far the worst. This team has top 25 talent and they're playing like they're Duke.

Boy was I wrong
This year's NCAA football season has been upside down to say the least. My pick of a USC-Virginia Tech national title game is all but washed away.
This year has been so crazy that Kansas -- Kansas! -- is still undefeated after dropping a 76-point bomb on Big 12 stalwart Nebraska.
Do I think Ohio State is the best team in the country? Not by a long shot because they haven't been challenged in their conference. Now I know OSU are steamed by that, but I'm a fan of the Big Ten and I don't want to see the Buckeyes cruise to the title game only to get the doors blown off again.
The best team in the nation right now is probably LSU. The way they have survived the minefield that is the SEC and been able to maneuever themselves back into BCS contention is remarkable.
Another team that should be getting more credit is Oregon. Here's a team that barely lost to Cal, but beat USC and previously unbeaten Arizona State last week. The Ducks have arguably the Heisman frontrunner in quarterback Dennis Dixon and they are extremely fun to watch.
I think a LSU-Oregon title game would be fantastic. However, for that to happen, Michigan must beat Ohio State...and we all know Lloyd Carr hasn't been able to do that in a while.
